MOUSE Squad Mini-Grants Financial support to offset program costs for MOUSE Squad of California is provided by funding from Silicon Valley Community Foundation and our other foundation and corporate partners.

$250 to $500
Eligibility: California public schools grades 4-12
Award Criteria: Applicants should describe the following:
  • Need for a student tech leadership program at your site
  • Videos or other projects planned to assist with MOUSE Squad instruction
  • Community partnerships
  • Tools to measure impact of the MOUSE Squad program
Preference will be given to schools with significant levels of underserved students. Schools are encouraged to form clusters of two or more schools in their geographic area.

The $2,000 program fee (see Mini-Grants above for qualified CA schools) includes:

  • 100 hours online curriculum correlated with state and national tech standards
  • Certification with specializations in Garage Robotics / Serious Games
  • Instructor training and support
  • Monthly micro-project contests
  • Collaboration tools for sharing ideas, activities, documents
  • Web-based ticket management system
  • Program assessment badges
  • Computer tool kit, flash drives, name badges and lanyards
  • Recruitment, advertising and content related posters and stickers
  • Identification and coordination of field trips and internships
  • Volunteer partnerships to assist with squads
  • Site visits and overall program management and support
