The core elements of the program include:
- Online curriculum with computer, software, troubleshooting and problem solving modules
- Hands-on activities, quizzes, and performance-based assessments
- Student-run help desk with ticket management system
- Volunteers to assist with curriculum, help desk, mentoring
- Internships for high school youth
Does your school or agency have:
- 5 to 25 students interested in learning about computers?
- Computers or laptops with Internet access?
- An instructor or faculty advisor interested in teaching about computer technology?
- An administrator supportive of students assisting teachers with their computer problems?
- Funding from sources such as California After-School Education and Safety (ASES) grants (Proposition 49), Career Tech Ed, Carl Perkins grants, Federal 21st Century Learning Center grants, site or district program allocations, local businesses, foundations, or service organizations, i.e. Lions Club or Rotary?
Program Fee:
The program fee of $1,500 covers licensing, training and program management. There is an additional $500 start-up fee for first year schools. MOUSE Squad of California subsidizes the remainder of the program cost. Grants of $500 or $1000 are available for qualified California schools.
