November MicroProject Winners!

Congratulations to the November Microproject Winners!

Greetings Squad members! Here it is, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: it’s time to announce the November MicroProject Winners! The November Challenge was to design and create your own video games, and share them with your squad! We had a huge number of awesome submissions this month!

Our Grand Prize

We had a tie for our Grand Prize $60 gift card to Best Buy, but both were students from Ida Price Charter Middle School in San Jose, California. This month Zach H and ryanm, will split the Grand prize glory while their Squad enjoys the gift card! Zach H's "Sky" and ryanm's "Lost" won the Grand Prize because they both made very fun, detailed and challenging games with many different levels, great story lines and a whole lot of hard work.

Our First Runner Up

Winner of the runner up award for a Papertronics Lunar Module is Raul Urena from P.S./M.S. 280 Mosholu Parkway in Bronx, NY who created the excellent game Adventure Math. Their project is impressive for several reasons. It has 11 levels, each one has it's own background and layout, and it teaches addition in fun way! Raul says he plans on making a subtraction version next. We can't wait to see it!

Our Second Runner Up

Also receiving a Papertronics Lunar Module is gmeixuero188 from The Digi-Sharks in New York, NY with his game "Drug Run." This game is made using Scratch, a more advanced game-building platform, and has a serious message about drug addiction. It is clear gmeixuero188 put in a lot of work into learning Scratch and in creating this powerful game!

Honorable Mentions

We had so many amazing submissions this month! It was incredibly difficult to choose a winner. We would like to give honorable mentions to Minecraft geek from Brook Knoll Elementary School for his project "Desert Danger" and Wendyzhang012800 from Wagner Middle School for her game "The 3 Things." Their games were different from the others we played, 3 Things had a great message and Desert Danger had a unique game mechanic.
