  • Fall Team Training Recap

The Fall 2011 Team Training was held on Saturday, 11/5/2011, and Sunday, 11/6/2011 from 8:30-3:30p at Hudson High School of Learning Technologies in Chelsea.

The day got off to a great start, with students working on a Social Scavenger Hunt before the official kickoff. Students were broken up into 4 different teams: the Pink Panthers, Orange Orcas, Green Godzillas and Yellow Yaks. To win a prize, students had to complete challenges with new friends on their team including making a secret handshake, drawing a Mouse mascot and writing and performing a short rap or poem. When most attendees were present, we started off with a big welcome outlining the purpose of the day and bringing up the energy level. During the Great Mousemallow Challenge, we built the tallest possible freestanding tower made out of only marshmallows and pasta in order to learn the Mouse ways of taking positive risks and failing forward.

Students then split up for a schedule of 2 workshops, lunch, 2 more workshops, and a closing/raffle. We really got to see our new Trainers shine, and overall students and coordinators were very engaged in all the activities!

We had some great shout-outs in the closing talk, including students thanking their coordinators, workshop leaders, and each other for a great day.

Check out Jen and Nick's squad posts to get the insiders' scoop on this awesome event. We always love to hear what squads are saying, so thanks for sharing your thoughts!
