About Emoti-Con:
Over 100 New York City-area youth will gather at Parsons New School of Design to showcase their use of digital media and technology, and to learn from fellow student game designers, programmers and many more!
The afternoon will feature: a youth project fair, opportunities to win prizes for exceptional projects, discussions with tech professionals, and great professional speakers. Throughout the day, youth will be showing their work and engaging in a city-wide dialogue about the role of new media and technology in their lives and on society. Participants will be demonstrating a wide variety of digital media, such as digital comics, serious game designs, animated movies, assistive technology projects, DIY tech support, and more.
The Emoti-Con (o.o) Festival has been developed through a unique grass-roots collaboration amongst a small number of NYC youth-serving organizations (Mouse, Global Kids, the New York Public Library, and Parsons Academy) to address the needs for cross-institutional collaboration and to provide the much needed face-to-face venue for youth to connect across digital media and technology projects.
