MOUSE Corps 2008-2009 Application
MOUSE Corps is an advanced program for high school students looking to combine their tech-skills with big ideas that transform the world around them. The goal of the MOUSE Corps is to build upon level-one MOUSE Squad skills by exposing students to advanced training and helping them gain experience by applying their talents to the world around them. With this elite Corps of peers, you too can experience the excitement of working in these challenging AND FUN environments where you will be set free to do some of the most rewarding work imaginable. Accepted Candidates will begin fulfilling requirements for their Corps Certification immediately, and continue candidacy until completion, for up to 3 years.
How MOUSE Corps Works:
- After acceptance to the program, you become a MOUSE Corps Candidate.
- MOUSE Corps Candidates choose a Focus. (Peer Mentoring, Career, College, Advanced Skill Training.) Candidates are NOT required to participate in all elements, though you are encouraged to participate in as much as possible. If you don't get to do something your first year, you can always participate in different areas in the following years.
- MOUSE Corps Candidates must earn a minimum of 10 Candidate hours through workshops and activities related to their focus. (A MOUSE Corps Focus is a lot like a career track or school major.)
- All MOUSE Corps Candidates are eligible to participate in seasonal activities like Internships and Corps Team Retreats.
MOUSE Corps has four key focus areas:
- Legacy Projects: 16-week design projects focused on improving communities through technology.
- Peer (p2p) Mentoring: Training and opportunities focused on students teaching students.
