GAMES + PIZZA = WIN
PlayTech Saturday is back this Fall, and you're invited! Come on out to Parsons the New School for Design to play brand-new games designed by Parsons students and eat free pizza! What kind of games, you ask? Well, all kinds! At past PlayTech Saturdays we've seen everything from video games to board games, card games and cool, interactive digital instruments. PLUS you get to meet the people who make all this awesome stuff, and ask them whatever you want!
Sounds awesome, right? So...

You made a cool avatar in September and you designed an awesome flyer in October. Now it’s time to take your still images to the next level - the .GIF level! For those unfamiliar with the .GIF file type (the Graphics Interchange Format), it’s a series of still images looped together to make a mini video animation type thing. You’ve seen them all over the web, but have you created one yet?

It's the end of the month already and you know what that means: time to announce the winners of the October MicroProject! The challenge this month was to design a great flyer to recruit new MOUSE Squad members at your school. We got a whole stack of great flyers, we wanted to put them all on the wall here at MOUSE HQ but there were just too many.
The grand prize winner this month is tcecorral from Eli Whitney TechCrew / Mouse Squad at Eli Whitney Elementary School in Chicago, IL! She wins a $75 Best Buy gift card for her squad. We loved tcecorral's combination of bright colors, informative text and photos of her squad doing amazing projects!
First Runner Up
The first runner up this month, winning his squad a RadioShack Build-It-Yourself Project kit, is Ben N 625 from Halsey's Mouse Squad at J.H.S. 157 Stephen A. Halsey in Rego Park, Queens, NY! We loved that Ben N 625 showed us a picture of his flyer hanging up at school! We also want to give a shout out to the entire Halsey MOUSE Squad for submitting so many projects this month. Great job!
Second Runner Up
The second runner up this month (and also receiving a a RadioShack Build-It-Yourself Project kit for their squad) is Elsword from FRS Mouse Squad at Fernando Rivera Intermediate School in Daly City, CA! We loved the colors that Elsword used and how many pictures he put on his flyer!
This month's Motivator shout-out goes to pelfers. Thanks for giving recognition to so many MOUSE Squad members!!
If you've never awarded a Win!, try it out next month! You can give Wins! for Creativity, Inspiration or Technical Know-How. Maybe next month we'll be giving YOU a shout out. Remember that when you award a MicroProject win, you must explain why you liked it, like pelfers did here:
Thank you to Coordinators and students who participated and submitted such awesome projects! We are looking forward to seeing many more of them in the future. Be sure to check out our next competition: MOUSE Squad Thanks-.GIFing!
