September MicroProject: The Great Avatar Challenge

No, I am not talking about tall blue people with tails from outerspace... MOUSESquad.org has just released a new Profile feature which allows every MOUSE Squad student to have a page of their own on our site - complete with your own avatar image and an “About Me” section.

What's an Avatar?

An avatar is an image you select to be the digital representation of yourself for a website or video game (like your Mii for Nintendo's Wii system). It can be a cartoon version of you or a superhero/animal/robot version of you or a logo or really anything!

OK, I'm Ready! What do I need to do?

For this month’s MicroProject competition, use online drawing software to create an Avatar for your Profile on the site.

  • Your image must be exactly 120 x 120 pixels (no more, no less).
  • It doesn’t have to look just like you, but it should represent who you are.
  • Add it to your Profile.
  • For bonus points: fill in your “About Me” section with any (or all) of the following:
  • ------Why you are in MOUSE Squad
  • ------List your tech skills & interests
  • ------What you want to learn this year
  • ------How you got interested in technology
  • ------Favorite video games/websites/software/computers
  • Then create a public Blog Post with the title “My September MicroProject”.
  • In the post, tell us what software you used, if you liked it or not and why!
